SUMMARY:The Blues Tram w/Wilson & White + John Flanagan!
DESCRIPTION:We’re hosting one genuine blues duo and one folk act on the rise you’re not likely to forget\, both on our March 2018 Tram – Wilson & White plus the amazing John Flanagan! \nEnjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage W Class tram\, while being serenaded by two amazing acts: \nJohn Flanagan:\nFast becoming a favourite on the Australian folk festival circuit\, the John Flanagan Trio somehow manages to transcend beyond the sum of its impressive parts. Award winning songwriter\, John Flanagan has been compared to James Taylor and Paul Kelly for his warm vocal delivery and engaging storytelling; Liz Frencham has a remarkable stage presence and a creativity in her double bass playing which has seen her play alongside various artists of international renown. Dan Watkins is recognised as one of the finest young bluegrass pickers in the country on guitar and mandolin and has toured extensively around Australia and the US. Together they combine 60s & 70s folk singer-songwriter influences with a contemporary Americana/bluegrass sound. With tight arrangements and soaring 3-part harmonies they deliver a dynamic and energetic live show that can vary from humorous and uplifting to moving and thoughtful. \nWilson & White:\nTroy Wilson & Matthew White\, Original songs\, Old-time\, Jug Band\, Pre-War Jazz & Blues\, Stomps and Rags. These acoustic artists will take you right back to the source to drink in the original sounds with resonator guitars and custom harmonicas. From fingerpicking to solo harmonica playing of the songs by Bo Carter\, Blind Boy Fuller\, Robert Johnson and Sonny Boy Williamson just to name a few. Troy and Matt bring raw talent and a compelling experience to the Juke Joint tradition\, with evocative and powerful songs\, from smoking ballads\, bawdy blues and juke joint boogies.
