DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage Class tram #610\, while being serenaded by two great acts. \nBringing to the stage a combination of Blues and Jazz marrying an array of ambient guitar riffs and skillful use of a loop pedal; Georgia Rodgers is a new and upcoming artist you won’t want to miss. Georgia is not only well known for her incredible guitar skills but also her voice and the journey she takes listeners on within her own compositions. This young musician takes the spotlight and captivates audiences through her ability to sing with raw emotion\, joined with her iconic Telecaster Georgia’s voice and her musicality act as partners in crime\, inviting all listeners to be a part of the beautiful love affair. Through years of mastering a set of originals and covers\, she is able to cater for a diverse range of audiences and venues. As a whole\, Georgia creates an experience to share\, not just an outstanding performance. \nLet Alawishus\, T-Bone & Cleitus take you folks all the way back to the year o’nineteen and thirty. They’ll likely tell you stories about the old times and sing you some authentic rural blues\, rag tunes & maybe even some old time spirituals.\nWhat can we expect from AJ&theOLs? Old blues; Maybe some pre-blues stuff that contains elements essential to the birth of blues like work songs\, field hollers & ragged time; Mostly what you can expect though is three fellas having a lot of fun; Guitar\, drums\, washboard\, bull-fiddle\, harmonica & ukulele; Stories and anecdotes that could have historical significance or might just be outright lies! \nSaturday September 9th\nBlues Tram\, feat: Georgia Rodgers + Alawishus Jones & The Outright Lies\nDeparting Central Deborah Goldmine (76 Violet Street) at 2pm\, returning 4:30pm.\nTix: $49.50 from Bendigo Visitor Centre 1800 813 513 or online here: https://www.bendigotourism.com/tours/bendigo-cbd/bendigo-blues-tram \nFollow The Blues Tram here: https://www.facebook.com/TheBluesTram \nStrictly no BYO. Drinks and snacks available for purchase. \nThe Blues Tram is organised and staged by Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival Inc\, a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. \nPlease Note:\nThis is a music appreciation event – a mobile concert. SUMMARY:Tom Harrington live at The Old Church on the Hill\, Bendigo w/Oceanique + Mikala McNiell
DESCRIPTION:Tom Harrington is an indie-folk artist inspired by the beauty in connecting with the people and world around us. A humble singer-songwriter with a compulsion for raw\, captivating storytelling when his acoustic guitar is in hand. \nThe ‘Slow Your Mind’ tour is in celebration of his latest single released in June which was written with intention to help elevate stress when you can’t wind down. \nTom uses live vocal looping to create a larger-than-life sound whilst still remaining present and flowing\, to a level unseen in other folk artists. \nHe has spent majority of 2023 roaming the east-coast in his van off the back of an Australian tour supporting Alivan Blu’. He has already supported artists such as Kyle Lionhart\, Felipe Baldomir\, Jordy Maxwell and Austin Mackay across Adelaide and Melbourne and is now taking on his own shows after capturing their audiences as the opener. With more music set for release early 2024\, Tom is just getting started! \nSupport acts for Tom’s Old Church on the Hill debut will be Oceanique + Mikala McNiell \nAbout the venue:\nThe Old Church on the Hill is located on the corner of Harkness and Russell Streets\, Quarry Hill\, Bendigo.\nThe Singer/Songwriter Showcase events\, staged at the Old Church by the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival crew on a semi-regular basis\, are an opportunity to enjoy a House Concert vibe in a public venue. The door charge is kept as low as possible to ensure accessibility to all. Under 12s free and\, although drinks are available for sale\, the focus is on THE MUSIC. If your conversation is more important to you than other people’s enjoyment of the artists’ performance\, please take it outside. (Thanks.)\nProceeds from drink sales go to supporting the Old Church crew and their many worthy initiatives. \nWe look forward to your company for an intimate concert experience like you’ve likely never experienced before. \nDoors open 7pm for a 7:30pm start. SUMMARY:The Blues Tram feat: Geoff Achison + The Lone Vanguard (Dale Lindrea)
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage Class tram #610\, while being serenaded by two great acts. \nGeoff Achison:\nGeoff began his apprenticeship with legendary Australian bluesman ‘Dutch’ Tilders establishing himself as a fine lead guitarist before striking out with his own. He released his debut album in the early 90s and began touring throughout the USA\, UK & Europe. Geoff’s music has been compared favourably to major artists such as Eric Clapton\, JJ Cale and the Allman Brothers Band having a solid foundation in the blues whilst embracing a variety of music styles. He has won awards for his guitar playing\, songwriting and live performances and was honoured in 2011 as official Patron Of the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society.\nAs a song-writer\, Geoff explores a myriad of themes from love & loss to politics & philosophy; often with his wry sense of humour shining through. Vocally\, Geoff has been compared favourably to the gruff voiced Joe Cocker\, Warren Haynes and Paul Weller. An extraordinary guitarist who plays quite unlike anyone else\, Geoff has been a driving force on the Australian blues/roots scene inspiring and influencing many of his younger compatriots. \nThe Lone Vanguard:\nDale Lindrea describes his sound as ‘Muddy Water meets Kraftwerk’ with a range of influences that push the boundaries of the Roots music envelope. Dale is one of the most exceptional musicians to be plying his trade on the Oz Blues and Roots stage today. It’s a blessing to have him back on The Blues Tram in 2023! \nSaturday September 9th\nBlues Tram\, feat: Geoff Achison + The Lone Vanguard\nDeparting Central Deborah Goldmine (76 Violet Street) at 2pm\, returning 4:30pm.\nTix: $49.50 from Bendigo Visitor Centre 1800 813 513 or online here: https://www.bendigotourism.com/tours/bendigo-cbd/bendigo-blues-tram \nFollow The Blues Tram here: https://www.facebook.com/TheBluesTram \nStrictly no BYO.
