DESCRIPTION:A king of soul\, reggae and roots with a young singer/guitarist who will leave you breathless – Josh Owen and Sarah Wilkinson will deliver a very special Blues Tram experience on 9 June. \nEnjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage W Class tram\, while being serenaded by two great acts: \nJosh Owen:\nJosh is a hugely respected amongst his peers and discerning music fans as guitarist\, singer\, songwriter and performer.\nBe it in solo mode or with his white-hot band\, Owen always shines. His outstanding musical talent has shone alongside the likes of Jamaican Reggae legend Earnest Ranglin\, US songstress Toni Childs and the Unconscious Brothers\, who comprise some of Australia’s finest and most in demand musicians.\nOwen’s solo performances accentuate his wonderful gift for storytelling\, as well as his warmth of spirit and observational song writing\, while showcasing his absolute mastery of the guitar. \nSarah Wilkinson:\nSarah Wilkinson began playing guitar and writing songs when she was 13 years old. She quickly began performing around her local Macedon Ranges area\, and gathered several awards early on including the Maldon Minstrel award and Macedon Ranges youth award – both when she was just 16. SUMMARY:John Flanagan Trio - Album Launch at The Old Church on the Hill
DESCRIPTION:Australian folk band ‘John Flanagan Trio’ are releasing ‘Honest Man’\, Flanagan’s 3rd album and his first time recording with his regular Trio band mates\, Dan Watkins and Liz Frencham. With soaring 3-part harmonies and tight arrangements they bring their dynamic and energetic live show to Bendigo. Co-presented by Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival and The Old Church crew it will be an evening of moving\, thoughtful\, uplifting and humorous songs. With two stunning support acts Mezz Coleman and Georgie Currie! \nDoors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start and the door charge is only $20\, or if you buy online\, the pre-sale tickets are only $15. Better get on the case! \nThe Old Church on the Hill is located on the corner of Harkness and Russell Streets\, Quarry Hill\, Bendigo.\nThe Singer/Songwriter Showcase events\, staged at the Old Church by the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival crew on a semi-regular basis\, are an opportunity to enjoy a House Concert vibe in a public venue.  Although drinks are available for sale\, the focus is on THE MUSIC.
