DESCRIPTION:Two phenomenal artists will ride the rails on the Friday night of Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival 2018: The King of Australian Blues\, Mr Geoff Achison makes his long awaited return\, while Canada’s Tennyson Kingmakes his Blues Tram debut. \nEnjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage W Class tram\, while being serenaded by two great acts: \nGeoff Achison:\nGeoff is an award winning blues-roots artist from Australia known for his energetic live performances and unique guitar mastery. Geoff began his apprenticeship with legendary Australian bluesman ‘Dutch’ Tilders establishing himself as a fine lead guitarist before striking out with his own. He released his debut album in the early 90s and began touring throughout the USA\, UK & Europe. Geoff has since established himself as a bona fide legend of Australian Blues music and a well-respected songwriter and performer on the world scene. \nTennyson King:\nTennyson is a international touring act from Canada having performed with notable Canadian acts such as Whitehorse\, Sloan\, Elliot Broode\, and Blackie and The Rodeo Kings. In 2017 Tennyson King embarked on his first Australian Tour playing over 100 shows – highlights include performances at Yackandandah Folk Festival\, MONA and Burke & Wills Festival and performances with Paul Dempsey\, Paul Woseen (Screaming Jets)\, Yirrmal\, and Brad Marr (MASSIVE). After a short tour in Europe to kick off 2018\, he is hibernating in Canada to record his next album set for a July 2018 release\, followed by a release tour in Canada\, China and Australia. His style of rock and roll is infused with earthy roots and blues while subtly laced in psychedelic ear candy. DESCRIPTION:The Badloves became an Australian household name in the 90’s for their multi-platinum hits “Lost”\, “Green Limousine”\, “I Remember”\, “Caroline” and a cover of “The Weight” with Jimmy Barnes.\nTheir biggest hit single “Green Limousine” spent a massive 69 weeks in the charts\nThroughout the 90’s they released six albums\, won two Australian Music Awards\, three ARIA awards and toured with acts such as Jimmy Barnes\, Baby Animals\, Lenny Kravitz and Hall & Oates.\nMost recently the band has been back on the road touring\, writing and recording. Their new single “Soulbrothertruckinsong” is scheduled for release in mid 2018 with an brand new album soon to follow.\nThe current line up includes;\nThe Badloves front-man and founder Michael Spiby (guitar and lead vocals)\nStephen ‘Irish’ O’Prey (bass)\nJeff Consi (drums)\nAdam Rigley (keys).\nThe Badloves will play one exclusive gig at Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival 2018\, headlining what will be a fun night at Ulumbarra Theatre Bendigo\, with general admission tickets for those wishing to dance up a storm in front of the stage and allocated seating tickets for those more inclined to sit back and watch the show in comfort.\nChief support\, on the Auditorium stage\, will be John McNamara Soul Band from 8pm. He has notched his Blues belt with some of the biggest music festivals in Australia\, and has been described as Australia’s own BB King.\nHe first picked up a guitar at just ten years of age. Despite the challenge of practising on a guitar\, which was missing a string he persisted. From humble beginnings\, a passion for guitar; his own natural gift\, and with music an important aspect of his life\, Buddy perfected his guitar ability to an outstanding standard\, spanning nearly three decades.\nHe has demonstrates a complete grasp of the work of the greats from Robert Johnson to Freddie King and BB King to Buddy Guy.
