DESCRIPTION:An award-winning young Melbourne bluesman and an accomplished young local folkster make their Blues Tram debut on Saturday 13 June 2020 – ONLINE EDITION. \nMuch more information to come – stay tuned! \nAbout our artists… \nAaron Pollock:\nAaron Pollock is arguably Melbourne’s hottest young blues talent and recently\, one of the top eight placing blues artists in the world\, at the International Blues Challenge final.\nTaking the Australian blues scene by storm\, at only 23 years old\, Aaron Pollock has arrived on the scene with swing and swagger\, picking ragtime and delta blues tunes\, as well as writing enchanting and poetic folk tunes\, slowly crafting his own unique sound in his own natural time. Just one man\, one guitar and a whole lot of blues. \nMariah McCarthy:\nHeathcote born\, Bendigo based\, folk artist Mariah McCarthy is one of regional Victoria’s most prized possessions. Influenced by the story telling of Dylan and Young\, with femininity reminiscent of Joni. This combined with her unique folk style makes for an enchanting\, intimate performance from the young artist. 2018 saw the acclaimed launch of Mariah’s debut EP ‘Counting Sheep – don’t miss the exquisite story telling of Mariah McCarthy. \nFollow The Blues Tram here: https://www.facebook.com/TheBluesTram \nThe Blues Tram is organised and staged by Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival Inc\, a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. \nIn partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo\, Bendigo Heritage Attractions\, Bendigo Tramways and supported by BB&RMF’s valued sponsors.

They have been selling out all over the world!\nWHAT THE PRESS SAY..\n“The word Prodigy seems to entirely fall short of this soft-spoken young man’s skills\, he coaxes sounds and melodies out of his instrument that literally drop jaws.” The Calgary Herald\, CANADA\n“Today I saw the future of Folk – Festival goers flocking in the thousands towards the main stage to witness a young musical phenomenon from Australia dish out an absolute\nshow-stopper.” The Firefly Column\, USA\n“Daniel Champagne is a crossroads. Fusing the strong traditions of Blues\, Folk and other roots art with pop showmanship and admirable lyrical ability. I firmly believe that he will become an ambassador for roots music in a time where it desperately needs\nrepresentation.” The Indie Blender\, CANADA\n“reinventing roots guitar” Rhythms Magazine\, AUSTRALIA\n“Watching Daniel Champagne perform is a once in a lifetime experience. He is a true prodigy that plays like no one else could possibly play unless they spent at least two lifetimes studying the art.” BW Review\, NEW ZEALAND\n‘Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage\, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism.\nCoupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band\, Champagne is just magical’ Themusic.com.au\, AUSTRALIA \nOpening for Daniel Champagne at The Old Church on Saturday 13 June is Bendigo’s own bluesman supreme Bill Barber Music. \nDoors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start with a door charge $20. \nThe Old Church on the Hill is located on the corner of Harkness and Russell Streets\, Quarry Hill\, Bendigo.\nThe Singer/Songwriter Showcase events\, staged at the Old Church by the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival crew on a semi-regular basis\, are an opportunity to enjoy a House Concert vibe in a public venue.
