We’re hosting two very bluesy acts on our first Blues Tram of 2018!
Enjoy the sights of Bendigo’s architecturally stunning CBD from on board the sensationally restored vintage W Class tram, while being serenaded by two great acts:
Julian James:
The front man from the raucous Melbourne based Chicago Blues outfit ‘Catfish Voodoo’ has been playing around Australia for the past 8 Years. His style is based deep in the Blues/ Gospel Acoustic Strummers of the South, with biblical references of Love, Loss and Debauchery. Recorded with Paulie Bignell (The Detonators, Paulie Bignell and the Thornbury Two) in Hailstone Studios (Three Kings), ‘Whiskey and the Devil’ is a mix of the contemporary and traditional that showcases a different side of a man familiar to Australian blues fans.
Alawishus Jones & The Outright Lies:
Let Alawishus, Wilby & Cleitus take you folks all the way
back to the year o’nineteen and thirty. They’ll likely tell
you stories about the old times and sing
you some authentic rural blues, rag tunes & maybe even some old time spirituals
What can we expect from AJ&theOLs? Old blues; Maybe some pre blues stuff that contains elements essential to the birth of blues like work song, field holler & ragged time; Mostly what you can expect though is 3 guys having a lot of fun; Guitar, drums, washboard, bass, trumpet, harmonica & ukulele; Stories and anecdotes that could have historical significance or might be outright lies!
