The John Flanagan Trio will be bringing their warm harmonies and bluegrass inspired arrangements to venues around Victoria this winter building on the success of John’s recent album release. In this special double bill show they will join forces with Alanna & Alicia, twin sisters who blend folk, jazz and roots in their original, acoustic songs.
John’s engaging lyricism, uplifting melodies and warm vocal timbre have seen him draw comparisons to James Taylor and Paul Kelly and described as a “songwriting force” of a new generation. His latest album, ‘There’s Another Way to Where You’re Going’ was recorded in Nashville with producer Viktor Krauss and has been a radio favourite.
Known for their sweet, sibling harmonies and fine songwriting, Alanna & Alicia have charmed audiences from the National Folk Festival, Canberra to Fairbridge, Western Australia with their onstage warmth, wit and sense of fun. Their lyrics, equal parts heart and humour, sparkle with an original, intimate voice that is rare in songwriters today.
This will be a special night of vocal fusion, humour and collaboration.
