Well-travelled Bluesman Buddy Knox makes his Bendigo debut, live at The Old Church on the Hill, supported by none other than Alawishus Jones & The Outright Lies, with an opening set from young gun Rhyley McGrath.
Buddy Knox is a blues master.
Buddy plays funky Blues with lightning speed licks and promises his show will “smoke ya boots”. He has notched his Blues belt with some of the biggest music festivals in Australia, and has been described as Australia’s own BB King.
He first picked up a guitar at just ten years of age. Despite the challenge of practising on a guitar, which was missing a string he persisted. From humble beginnings, a passion for guitar; his own natural gift, and with music an important aspect of his life, Buddy perfected his guitar ability to an outstanding standard, spanning nearly three decades.
He has demonstrates a complete grasp of the work of the greats from Robert Johnson to Freddie King and BB King.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start and the door charge is only $15
The Old Church on the Hill is located on the corner of Harkness and Russell Streets, Quarry Hill, Bendigo.
The Singer/Songwriter Showcase events, staged at the Old Church by the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival crew on a semi-regular basis, are an opportunity to enjoy a House Concert vibe in a public venue. Although drinks are available for sale, the focus is on THE MUSIC. If your conversation is more important to you than other people’s enjoyment of the artists’ performance, please take it outside.
Proceeds from drink sales go to supporting the Old Church crew and their many worthy initiatives. Sound production is provided by R&J DJ & Entertainment and the door takings are able to be shared between the performers with thanks to our valued sponsors picking up the costs that would normally come out of the door.
We look forward to your company for an intimate concert experience like you’ve likely never experienced before.
