This Sunday, August, 6, award-winning teen sister duo Charm of Finches (Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes), from Melbourne, are celebrating the first birthday of their debut album, Staring at the Starry Ceiling, with a show at The Old Church on the Hill.
The ‘dream-folk’ duo have been playing folk and roots festivals nationally since 2014, and this year won the prestigious Gill Rees Young Musicians Award at the National Folk Festival in Canberra.
They have also earned plaudits from The Music magazine (“the music they make is affecting, and emotional“), and Tone Deaf (“gorgeous chamber pop”).
Charms of Finches are finishing an east coast tour with this special afternoon show. Support comes from Bendigo’s William Alexander – a talented, old-time-style story-telling singer-songwriter.
Doors at 3pm on Sunday, August, 6.
