“It was like our own serene blues bubble floating through Bendigo. I was super impressed by the calibre of musicians on board. More! More! Incredible blues music matched with a gorgeous historic tram! I wish it lasted longer! Definitely not missing out on the next one!”
Beck Chalmer, 3BO Announcer and mother of two.
“When you think of catching a tram, fantastic entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful scenery while enjoying a beverage or two amongst great company doesn’t generally spring to mind. The Blues Tram has all of this in spades, and is a unique musical experience definitely not to be missed!’’
James Marshall, Musician and Bendigo Bank employee.
These are just a sample of the glowing testimonials from passengers on the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival’s latest outlet for enjoying the tunes: The Blues Tram, which enjoyed its maiden trip late last month. Two of Bendigo’s best attractions – its historic trams and fabulous music talent- will combine again on Saturday, October 27 with Josh Owen and Jimmy Williams providing the soundtrack for the Blues Tram’s second voyage from 2pm.
And don’t forget the trams start running again from from the second night of the festival – Friday, November 9, through to Sunday November 11 – where fans can enjoy a relaxed gourmet buffet meal before the tram’s departure from the Central Deborah Gold Mine from 7pm. The tram will leisurely roll through the streets of the city, taking a pit stop at the Joss House for desert, before turning back towards the mine.
Festival director Colin Thompson said the Blues Trams were a new initiative for the festival and not to be missed. ‘‘It combines up close and intimate live music with some of Bendigo’s best loved features,’’ he said. ‘‘These beautifully restored trams and the nostalgic ride through our picturesque city centre, with its breathtaking architecture and natural features, the Blues Tram offers a truly unique experience, which you simply won’t find anywhere else.’’
